I want to thank you all for your great patience and encouragement during this painting which gave me tons of worries:-)
I even framed it ( temporarily) even though I will still go back to it in the next few days for the finishing touches. Framed it looks very much the way I saw it in my head. The only part that is totally different is the top dark portion in the middle - that was supposed to be a green leaf....but it looked horrible, so I glazed all kinds of layers of purple on top.
Well done Christiane. You pulled it off nicely. I can completely relate to the tearing up part. I've actually gone ahead and torn a few, realizing later I may have acted a bit hastily. Oops! But you did a great job on a painting with mostly purples which would have certainly presented a major challenge. The light you were able to preserve is absolutely wonderful.. congratulations! looking forward to your next project..
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely, moreso in the frame! I hope you will enter this royal purple clematis in a gallery exhibit. Its beauty deserves a much wider audience.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out wonderfully! Beautiful job and the framing is right on target!
ReplyDeleteRoss, I promise that the next project will be much simpler!
ReplyDeleteCountry Dreaming and Mary: thank you so much! I am pleased with it finally and a frame makes such a difference:-)
Oh, la la. It is BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteChristiane it turned out wonderful, I find when I get frustrated the most is when I grow the most (as long as I push through) I have actually thrown paintings in the waste can, only to pick them out later and sometimes they turn out to be my favorite ones :)
ReplyDeleteVicki and Krista: you are always there to offer me support and that is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteKrista, I have just signed up for your newsletter and can't wait to receive it:-)
It's beautiful! I'm so glad you didn't tear it up!! This is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunner! Well done you. xx
ReplyDeleteChristiane....I love the composition of this. The colors are awesome too.
ReplyDeleteMatting and framing always help, don't they! (LOL) Seriously, great job.
ReplyDeleteTheresa, I am glad too, now, that I did not tear it up:-0
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat:-)
Gretchen, the colors gave me grief during the painting, but I like them now.
Deb, yep, the matting and framing sure help:-) Also, a fresh eye and knowing that the painting is done and ready for the wall and can be forgotten for a while:-)
Your Climatis turned out really good. The color violet is superbly exploited, I meant from light to dark values. More success in your future projects.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment and good wishes,Cora!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, I am sure even without the frame. Lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jane!
ReplyDeleteI've been watching this beauty all along, Christiane...it's gorgeous. Love all the different values you've gotten with just a few hues. Love the hits of reds you've woven through. Also really like that dark area to the top that you said should have been a leaf as it added more drama to the composition. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mollie! I am very, very pleased that you like the result. The more I look at this painting, the more I like it:-)
ReplyDeleteI hope that all is well with you...I loved your latest portrait of your grand-daughter!That's what I call a beauty!
Take care.
Wow! This is a beautiful painting and so well painted. I adore Clematis and this is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBarb, thank you. I did not think that I would be successful with this painting, but I am now very proud of it:-)
ReplyDeleteWell done, Christiane. Love the finished work and enjoyed your thoughts about it as well as seeing it come into its own.
ReplyDeleteChristiane, I know this one gave you fits and you were tired of it and it wasn't going where you wanted it to go, but YOU DID IT!!! This is gorgeous and looks so good matted and framed :) If you can do it without throwing out your back or shoulders, give yourself a BIG pat on the back for this one.
ReplyDeleteAnn and Rhonda, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI do feel good about finishing this one!
I want something quick and easy for my next painting:-)
looks great christiane !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jane!
