Here is the final version of this painting: I followed your suggestion and toned down some of the highlights in order to focus more on the left bud. I also darkened the two horizontal stems that distracted me and painted them dark reddish brown, as suggested by Rhonda.
Thank you all for your fresh eyes, support and friendship!
Wow! Huge honor...Red Bubble and Pink Fuschias...how about that. I have loved seeing your process even though I don't know how to help- I know beautiful work- and that would be yours:)
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
I stay warm with nice comments like yours, Kathy:-) Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour painting turned out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb. I received a lot of great suggestions!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Christiane. Especially the sunshine and shadow on the bud - that just sings! xx
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! Congrats!
ReplyDeletePat and Vicki, you are both very sweet and kind. I appreciate your support!
ReplyDeleteWow! Well done! Congrats too on your Red Bubble selection. Seems retirement is suiting you Christiane and the art work is blossoming. No pressure but can't wait to see what you do next! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is beautiful and I really love the title you've chosen, too.
ReplyDeleteRoss, retirement is soooooooooo busy! However, it is nice to be able to paint every day...it is much easier to keep one's focus. I will probably do another floral, next, but with more color!
ReplyDeleteRhonda, I really appreciated your suggestions for this painting. I do like the title, do...more interesting than just Floral # 33 :-)
great blog! Find it from Leovi, if you like art, come see my blog as well =)
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteMakavetis, thank you. I enjoyed visiting your site as well and I will check it often.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katherine!
Congratulations, Christiane...the painting well deserves the recognition. Your colors are so fresh...really a beautiful painting...keep it up. Do you have anything on the drawing board right now? (Don't mean to be a slave driver...but...you're retired...gotta keep going here!).
ReplyDeleteThank you,Mollie...I need to be kept in line:-) I do have 2 projects that I am procrastinating over: a clematis that will be quite a challenge, I think; I also have a commission that I may accept - it is for a poured, posterized portrait ( I have done only one of these in the past and I am a bit unsure how this one would turn out...I suppose that the only way of finding out is to try:-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Retirement is certainly agreeing w/ you!
ReplyDeletePam, I am so glad that you stopped by. I have been admiring your work on the Daily Painters International Art Gallery...I have now added your blog to my blog roll. I hope that you will drop in again.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! I can see why they chose it so quickly!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, thank you so much!
