Progress on Bronze Orchids -WIP part 3

I did some work on this bronze orchid painting today: painted a few more petals and worked on some of the  background leaves and steams.
My palette is composed of the following: quin gold, brown madder, permanent magenta, Hooker's green and a touch of pthalo turquoise.
I am using Fabriano 140 lb Soft Press and so far, I really like it: it has just enough tooth while letting the paint spread very smoothly. It is also a nice bright white.

Have a nice evening!

  3. Mollie, you are the one who made me discover this phtalo turquoise a few weeks ago...I love it!

Krista, I seem to be using this W&N Quin Gold in everything these days.

I am going out tomorrow afternoon, but will try to get this finished by Saturday morning.

Thank you both for your well-appreciated support.

  7. Barb,I probably should have started with a single orchid before tackling this. The main orchid in this painting would probably be nice on its own.

Pat, I certainly hope that you and Mollie are right:-) Thank you!

Leslie, thank you for stopping by. I am not as confident as you, but so far so good:-)
