I have done a bit more work on my "Venetian Shutters". The painting is not as sunny as I saw it in my mind - the bricks kept getting darker and darker:-)
The shadows under the flowers and to the right of the lower shutter will be very important in this painting. In my mind, they are beautiful and very colorful..how they will really look? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I wish you all a very pleasant Sunday afternoon and a good week.
This is looking wonderful, love the colours..I only tried a pour once and gave up on it..I'll be sure to check back to see how this is progressing...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephie, for the encouragement. I am still rather uncertain about this painting:-)
ReplyDeleteChristiane, this piece is coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see the next layer.
ReplyDeleteYou are having such fine success being featured on Red Bubble -- congratulations! I have to agree. The pears are a very interesting piece. I like the abstract lines.
Thank you, Mary, for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteAs for Red Bubble, they have given me some very good publicity...but since I don't sell T-Shirts, it's a good thing that I am not waiting for sales there to feed my family:-)
chritiane.. i really enjoy your paintings.. love how you layer and get such yummy colors.... i can see why you are doing well on red bubble!!! keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteoops sorry, spelled your name wrong..lol need some coffee before visiting in the am..lol
ReplyDeleteYou seem to paint like I do, very slowly and deliberately - I like that! I like the start of the old brick/stone work coming through the stucco. The shadows are what make a painting and they are coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteCindi, thank you for the kind words. You are always so positive.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I do paint slowly...too slowly:-) I hope the main shadows will turn out ok - I see them as being quite vibrant.
Delightful work Christiane...its a joy to visit your blog and see your work..you have a magic touch.
ReplyDeleteFredericks,
ReplyDeleteI thank you for your wonderful comment. I so often have doubts about my work that words like yours are like a much appreciated ray on sunlight...
