Monday morning and work are fast approaching, so I took the plunge and started my petals. I added some masking to better keep some whites here and there. For the pinks, I have used Quin Rose with some cobalt and some Permanent magenta. On the right hand side, I have just started to warm up the pink a bit. I like the pinks beside the greens.
The colors are not quite accurate - I took it outside a few minutes ago, but it was already starting to get dark so the flash did go off.
Let me know what you think. Have a great week...I have a day off on Thursday...Whoopee! More painting time!
This is looking very luscious already! I like the variety in the greens - don't forget to push some of those leaves back so the star is the flower petals :) Good for you, a whole day off - hope you get time to paint!
ReplyDeleteI viewed this in google reader and the flower just jumped at me! It really made me smile - and you haven't even finished it yet!
ReplyDeleteFabulous xx
You go girl! Your DVD from Jacqueline has really paid off!!! Can't wait to see it completed - it's going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteRhonda, thank you! IRL the leaves stand out less; they are closer to those in the previous post. And yes, I fully intend to find time to paint on my day off:-0
ReplyDeletePat,your sweet comment is a real morale booster. Thank you.
Deb, Jacqueline's DVD has indeed taught me a lot. I should have this painting finished by Thursday at the latest: most nights, when I get home I don't have much energy left for painting or I take out my day's frustration on the paper...not a good idea at this stage of a painting:-)I appreciate your continued support!
