Clematis update WIP - Part 2

Here is what I have done so far on the clematis.I am not finding it an easy painting so far. I am having trouble getting the color effects I am after.

I took this picture inside near one of my windows ( reason for the shadows) - it is very sunny here in Ottawa today, but we are freezing - it was -25Celsius this morning ( minus 13 degrees F.) and it is now about minus 17 C. Brr.....Can you believe that the forecast for tomorrow is rain!
Still lots and lots of work.I won't be getting much more done today since I have to drive my daughter to the airport this afternoon: she was home for part of the weekend since her office in NYC is closed today for a holiday.

  3. Slowly and surely, Christiane, this one will come together. Perhaps it wants to be another color than you had in mind? :)

  4. Chris , I am following you !! and will to the end. My most favorite thing to paint is up close florals, the closer the better.. and this is going to be a beauty,... big or small.. I live in Florida (central) and its not alwyays bloomin' flowers as most think. Right now brown grass, and a lot of our tropicals have suffered from the recent hard freeze! What the heck???

  5. Rhonda, maybe it does want to be another color:-) Purple and mauve are my favorite colors, but they certainly are not cooperating today.I will try to follow your advice and use patience.

Barbra, thank you for your vote of confidence. I will follow Rhonda's advice and won't rush this one too much. I am not familiar with Florida and would certainly have imagined that you had our summer all year round:-)

  8. Katherine, spending a bit of time with our daughter was great. She always makes me laugh: today, she said that I should add a few zeros to all my prices in order to sell more. Do you want to buy a $12,000 floral, Katherine? :-)

Vicki, thank you. As for the cold,it makes you want to stay inside beside the fireplace:-)
