Serenity Featured on Red Bubble

My watercolor "Serenity" has just been featured in a recently created group on Red Bubble, called "Waterlily Wonderland".

The majority of the entries are photographs, but there are some paintings. Some are so beautiful that they take your breath away. Do check them out.

My "Serenity" was painted over a year
and a half ago and was my fist large painting ( just under a full sheet). The waterlilies are somewhat stylized; the nuancing occurs mostly in the background.  This is certainly a painting that I intend to paint again one of these days.

  1. Congratulations, Christiane! This is just great and you must be excited about it! Don't you just love water lillies? This is a lovely paintings and I like your stylized approach. I like what you are doing now, though, with your beautiful loose pourings.

  2. WOW! And such a large painting, too. You love challenges and are doing so well. I DO like the new Venice pix, too. Sometimes the duller colors help make the really special colors glow more. Looking forward to seeing the finished masterpiece.

  4. Well done Christiane for having your waterlilies in the Red Bubble feature. Could you tell us more about this 'organisation' or whatever it is. Like how the darks are coming along in the Venetian piece, such subtle colours.

  6. Thank you very much, all of you!
Joan asked for more info on Red Bubble. Red Bubble is an Australian site where you can show photography, art and design and sell cards, prints or t-shirts from that art. Red Bubble takes care of all the printing, shipping etc and the artist gets a small commission. The most important aspect of RedBubble is the community component. You decide in what groups you would like your work to appear, you can follow your favorite artists ( Paul Jackson is a member), you can take part in challenges; regularly, each group moderators choose their favorite artwork and feature them. It is a great way to get feedback from your work, but unless you are into t-shirt designs, don't join Red Bubble thinking that you will make a lot of money:-)
