Happy New Year and Fuschia WIP update 2

Happy New Year  to all my blogging friends! May 2011 be full of joy, good health, great friendships and super painting! Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I appreciate them more than you could imagine.

To finish the year, I am posting an update of my Fuschias' work in progress. I like the little bit of work done on the flowers where I have practiced my glazing, but am not too happy with the leaves that I have probably overworked. What do you think?

I will work some more on this today if I can to be able to start the New Year with a new painting.

All my best to all of you.

  1. The greens don't look overworked to me but I'd like to see more variety of greens/blues/violets there. Wait and see how it looks once the flowers are all done. Happy New Year, Christiane.

  2. This is looking good, Christiane...very fresh. I think Rhonda is right...work your flowers and then see if you need to drop any of the pinks/purples around to break up the line of pink that you'll have at the bottom. Your vein work is beautiful. You're getting so much work done now that you've "retired"...ha. Happy New Year.

  3. Rhonda and Mollie, great suggestions about adding purples, pinks and violets in the leaves...some are so dark that it may be difficult without lifting...but it can all be done:-) I will indeed wait until I have more of the flowers done.
Happy New Year to both of you.

  8. Its all looking really good right now. There is one little lift which seems to dominate at the moment (top centre, one step to the right) - BUT - it may well fade into the background once the flowers are painted! I would paint the flowers, wait and see :)

Hope you have the most wonderful and creative new year. xx

  9. Hi, Pat. The section you refer to may be one that has not been painted in yet...but, thank you, I will certainly reassess it at the next stage.

I want to wish you also a whole year full of joy, good health, friendship and creativity. I am so glad that I have discovered your blog!
