Dance of the Lights

I think I am getting obsessed with abstracts-)
This one started with one challenge: my son said he liked my previous painting, but that for his place, he would prefer a white background instead of creamy yellow. So, this is what I tried to do with this 30" x 30" acrylic painting on deep gallery wrapped canvas. This painting is not intended for my son, however, since he wants one 60" wide ..I thought I needed some practice before jumping to that size:-)
Dance of the Lights - 30" x 30" on deep gallery canvas- $525
This painting is currently on display at the Kevin Dodds Gallery in Ottawa, Canada, but may still be purchased online via PayPal. Kevin ships worldwide. Do contact me if you want more info regarding this painting.

  1. Beautiful and so absorbing. Abstacts are so personal they are born so deep in the heart and subconscious.

  3. Not third of painting yet Christiane? :) Looks like your artwork has really evolved! The Tapestry's are beautiful and your abstracts pretty cool. I have yet to try abstract. I believe it takes a great deal of skill to pull on off as they still require all the fundamentals to work well. You have it down pat! Well done! So glad i stopped by. Happy painting Christiane.

    1. Ross, actually this was my 4th abstract. I have now finished my 5th...and I am still hooked:-) I tried abstracts a few years ago and felt I was not getting anywhere, but so far, this year, I feel more inspired.
I am very happy you stopped by, Ross. Take care.

    2. :) I should proof read my posts before positing. That should have read, "Not tired of Painting yet Christiane?" I'm not yet and try to paint daily. I've just let the blog go as i got tired of spending so much time with it and not painting! :) I should re-visit it though and am impressed to see you including ways for people to purchase your artwork. You are really progressing well with your work. Well done!

  4. Hi again, Ross. No, I am not tired of painting, on the contrary,,,I am becoming more and more obsessed with it. The problem is finding the time to paint several times a week. I have withdrawal symptoms on days when I can't paint:-) I am spending more time on Facebook these days than on the blog, although I do try to post here once in a while.
Thank you as always for your support and encouraging words.
