Winter show this weekend

I will be at the Nepean Fine Arts League Winter Show this weekend, Nov. 30 to Dec.2. This show is usually great fun and the quality of the artwork is very high.
I have just finished in time for the show a few paintings in my Polar series. They are small ( from 6" x 6" for the small panels to 12" x 12" for the largest). This series has been very popular and I hope some of my new pieces will go to a good home this weekend:-)
The pieces are on cradled gallery panels; the background is layers and layers of acrylic and the designs are made with metal sheets or metal foil and all kinds of various gel mediums. They are so much fun to make. However, because of the metal, they really do not photograph well.

If you are in the Ottawa area, I would be so happy if you could drop in.
Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

    1. Thank you, Rhonda!
I have not been very active online since my return from Italy: I came back sick and I am just now getting my energy back.
I will catch up next week with all the wonderful blogs I follow.
I always appreciate your visits so much.

  2. Christiane, these are most excellent! How creative to mix metal and acrylic. I am just now painting an acrylic and it is driving me (the watercolour guy) crazy! Wish i was in the Ottawa area so i could see the show. Good luck and may your paintings all find those forever homes. :)

    1. Ross, is acrylic driving you "good" crazy or "frustrated" crazy? I am still using it only in mixed media where I can go a bit wild with the brushstrokes and the effects. In the New Year, I want to try it for a more realistic look.
I am looking forward to seeing your acrylic.
Thank you for the good wishes for the weekend.

    1. Thank you, Nora. I probably got too tired right before leaving and my immune system decided to take its revenge:-) I am feeling a lot better now.

  4. These are wonderfully unique. Hope you have a wonderful show with your art finding lots of new homes. Wish New Brunswick wasn't so far away from Ottawa!

    1. Bren, I too wish we could easily visit each other's shows. The turnout today, the last day of the show was rather poor because of the dismal weather: freezing rain then very heavy rain. Nevertheless, I made a few sales and I am quite happy about the weekend. I met new friends and spent chatting with dear old friends...
